Farms

From the planting to the harvesting of sod, it takes many people to get everything in place to make it happen. Growing the sod takes from 10 to 18 months, depending on variety. Most of the fields are under irrigation which makes certain the proper amount of water is applied to ensure a quality product. Fertilization and weed control are handled on a daily basis in the growing season to head off any problems before they appear.

Overall, Woerner Turf strives to provide the best quality possible. A reputation in the sod industry unmatched for quality does not just happen, it is a job performed daily by the employees of Woerner Turf at all our farms. Kenny Heil is production manager for all farms and can be reached at 251-943-4651.
